We are no stranger to bad weather in Alabama, but we also know how to come together, to rebuild, and to heal as a community. Ohatchee, AL experienced tragedy and destruction with the recent Tornadoes. Joanna Harden, owner of the Darkhorse Saloon, and local musician Patrick Smith; along with the help of many others, are coordinating the Ohatchee Strong Crawfish Boil and Music featuring talented Musicians entertaining all day this Saturday April 3rd. All (100%) of the donations and money collected will be donated to families affected by the Storm. Raffles will be held with TONS of prizes donated by local businesses throughout the day. The Darkhorse Saloon will be giving 20% of all their bar sales to the cause, as well. Bama Bayou will be donating the Seafood and their time for the event.

The event doors will open at Noon and Robby Jordan will kick off the musical festivities at 1pm. When asked about the event Robby told us, “it’s nice to give back to the community when you can.”

Phillip McCain will be playing the 2:30 slot. Phillip has local ties to the community and is a fantastic Musician.

Bo Jones will be featured in the 4:30 to 6pm portion of the evening. Bo has an amazing sound you don’t want to miss.

Not only has Patrick Smith put this together he will also be showcasing his talents from 6:30 to 8pm with special guest Kevin Moon. I got a little perspective on how deep this goes when talking to my friend, Patrick. “Well, my side is kinda biased tho. My kid’s great grandmother got killed and destroyed his grandmother’s house. And I figured Hell, I’m not rich but I can use my talent and try to raise some money to help. I’m also an Ohatchee native so I wanted to do what I could.”

Rounding out the Night is the Wilson Brothers Band. They will be throwing down from 8:30 – Till Late. I checked in with my Hometown brethren about bringing in some good Music for a good Cause. Chad Wilson of the Wilson Brothers said — “Alabama is our home. And anytime our home is hurt, we hurt. And we always try to give back or help when we get the chance. And this is a good chance for not only us, but for others to come and help out the ones that were hurt in the storms.”

We hope to see everyone there Saturday for a full day and night of Giving… Good Vibes, Good Friends, Good Music, Good Food all for a Great Cause!

  1. Will you sell to go plates? I would love to come for all of this, but too busy preparing for Easter Sunday at our home.

    1. We aren’t selling them. All food is for donation only, but we will have to go plates available 🙂
