Summer break is in full swing which means kids are home all day, eager to fill their summer days with fun. Luckily for parents, Calhoun County is filled with family-friendly activities and events to make this the best summer for both kids and their parents.
Blackberry Hill Alpacas
Located in Anniston, Blackberry Hill Alpacas is an alpaca farm which offers many amenities. The farm is used as a venue for weddings and other special events while simultaneously being a perfect day trip for the kids to play with animals. Blackberry Hill takes up sixty beautiful acres, complete with a gift shop and some of the nicest people around the county running the place.
Choccolocco Park
This Oxford attraction sits on three hundred acres and offers beautiful scenery, a massive playground, and walking trails. Along with every kid’s dream playground, the park has numerous picnic pavilions perfect for outdoor lunches and birthday parties. Easy exercise is made easy by taking the kids for a walk on the trail, complete with signs detailing the history of the land around the park.
Noccalula Falls
Calhoun County residents are familiar with the Noccalula Falls park and campgrounds in neighboring Etowah County, seeing as it’s the perfect day trip for any age. This park provides beautiful views of not only the 90 ft. waterfall, but also beautiful, breathtaking greenery and gardens. The kids are sure to get out all their energy from their targeted attractions like the petting zoo, playground, and souvenir shop. Along with the already listed attractions, Noccalula Falls has created a miniature golf course perfect for all ages.
