This Veterans Day, Rev Up for the Alabama Jeep Jam

With Veteran’s Day right around the corner, it’s a good time to take a step back and reflect on all that our nation’s veterans and active duty military servicemen have given to us–protection, service, and dedication. Veteran’s Day is not only a holiday to honor those brave men and women–it’s also a day that you can give back to them. If you are looking for an event local to Calhoun County that can not only show support and give back monetarily to Alabama veterans, but also provide a lot of family enjoyment, then start your engines! Get ready for the Alabama Jeep Jam on Saturday, November 12 from 10am-7pm at Combat Park in Eastaboga. The Jeep Jam provides a chance for all of you proud jeep owners to strut your vehicles in style this Veterans Day. And the best part? The proceeds will go to benefit the Wounded Warriors of Alabama.

Fun For All Ages

Let’s get one thing straight. Adults and children alike will find all kinds of fun things to enjoy at the Alabama Jeep Jam. First off, who doesn’t love a good ride? The premier attraction at this event is the jeeps! Whether you have a weather-beaten relic or a model in mint condition, you are encouraged to bring your jeep and enter it in the Jeep Show, which goes from 10am-6pm. There will be prizes awarded for the best jeeps, such as for the most patriotic jeep, best in show, and the People’s Choice Award. And when darkness falls on all the jolly jeep owners, there will be a Jeep Convoy (around 7pm), where the jeeps will form a cue and drive down Talladega Speedway Blvd for 5 miles. Upon reaching Highway 77, folks can go left or right and head home, or wherever their jeep may take them.

Other adult events to get your motor running include a 50/50 Raffle and a Silent Auction, where folks can bid on items such as Jeep vehicle accessories, yard equipment, and more (12-15 items in all).  If you’re itching to take your 4-wheeler for a spin, you can go trudging through the Patriots Mud Bog at nearby Winner Farms (package deals available). There’s even the opportunity to Drive a Tank (extra charges apply). Or buy a $10 ticket to enter (and hopefully exit) the Escape Room.

Courtesy of Wounded Warrior Alabama, there will be a tasty cookout of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs from 12-2pm, where Veterans can eat free. There will be many other food vendors present at the Jeep Jam to satisfy all tastes including:

  • Blacktop Bistro
  • Drive By Tacos
  • Elevated Ground
  • Freddie’s BBQ
  • KIN Express
  • Kricket’s Sweets and Treats
  • Pelican’s Snowballs
  • RNB FINZ N Chicks
  • Simone’s Kitchen ATL
  • Taqueria Pepe’s
  • Weiner Wagon

If you enjoy live music, you’re sure to get your feet moving in front of the main stage, where multiple musical acts will be playing all day.  The acts are as follows:

  • Patrick Smith (10am-Noon)
  • Josh Kinney (12:30pm-3pm)
  • Hunter Chastain (3:30pm-5:30pm)
  • Josh Murphy (6pm-8pm)

How about the kids? They can have loads of fun at the Mega Kid Zone, which features ax throwing, Jelly Balls, a dunking booth, and more.  And admission is free for kids to the Jeep Jam, though some activities may have an extra charge.

General Admission for Adults to the Alabama Jeep Jam is $20 for ages 13 and up.  It’s located at Combat Park, 6755 Curry Station Road, Eastaboga, AL 36260.  You can call (256) 600-6230 for more information.
