Don’t you just love a comfortable, cozy flannel shirt? You’ll have the perfect opportunity to sport your favorite flannel, courtesy of Anniston Bar Crawls, as they have a fun event planned for this Saturday, December 16–Flannel Fest 2023! From 8 pm until the clock strikes midnight, gear up to participate in a fun stroll to area bars and restaurants along Noble Street and other parts of downtown Anniston, Alabama with your best buddies in tow. And if great food, drink, and company isn’t enough of a motivator, how about a drawing for a new 65″ flat-screen TV?!?

Registration

Since 2018, Anniston Bar Crawls has hosted many fun outings for folks in the community like their multiple Zombie Bar Crawls, Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl, and most recently St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl. At all of these events, the goal has been to visit all participating restaurants and bars, hear live music, sample food and drink, and socialize.

In the past, the events have been free as the area bars and restaurants chipped in on the cost. This year, Anniston Bar Crawls has partnered with Calhoun County Insight and Elite Home Theaters to make sure Flannel Fest will be unforgettable. Registration is required to take part at a small fee of $10, which will purchase a wristband and bar card. This will allow you to buy any drink specials available that night and enter you in the grand prize drawing.

To qualify for the grand prize giveaway, you must 1) be registered; 2) visit all locations and get your card marked; and 3) be present for the final drawing at the last destination. The giveaway will be a new 65″ flat-screen TV, provided by Elite Home Theaters. There will be opportunities for other giveaways provided by Supreme Beverage Company.

You can pre-register for the Flannel Fest Bar Crawl via CashApp (cashtag:  $AnnistonBarCrawls). Flash sales are currently running for a FREE Flannel Fest t-shirt. To participate, you must be 21 years of age and have a valid ID to register.

Route

With your route map in hand, you can join the whole gang, galavanting about downtown Anniston in your warm flannel shirts, pants, hats, or whatever clothing you want to show off. The event will begin at Rack and Roll Billiards and Sports Bar, where those who have not pre-registered can register for the event between 6:30-7:30 pm. 

Once 8 pm rolls around, folks can bounce between Rack and Roll and two other participating locations that are smaller so that no one place gets too crowded–Besitos Mexican Kitchen and Effina’s Downtown. After some food and drinks are sampled (and memories made), the leader will encourage folks to follow along to the next location, the Parlormint. Subsequent stops will include the historic Peerless Saloon and Grille, Coldwater Mountain Brewpub, Grand Central, and finally The Darkhorse Saloon.

Some places will feature live music like Coldwater Brewpub, where the HWY 77 Band will be playing. At the Peerless Saloon, rock out with Birkenhëd. Or dance close with someone special to the acoustic music of the duo Sam Lewis and Ted Tedder who will be playing at Parlormint.
