Ever since its arrival at the Oxford Exchange I have been eager to try Blue Fin Japanese Sushi & Steakhouse. So, I asked my favorite local to join me and off we went to get the INSIGHT on this eatery.

We got good vibes immediately walking in, everyone was friendly, and we were seated right away. Started off ordering a simple appetizer of edamame and a couple of drinks while we looked over the menu. For our adult beverages I got a Saki Mule (Sake, Vodka, Lime Juice, Cucumber Juice, and Ginger Beer) and my better half got their signature drink the Blue Fin Sunrise (Pineapple Run, Coconut Rum, Curacao, Pineapple Juice, and Cranberry Juice). The Edamame was delicious, steamed nicely and the drink was amazing. It was super refreshing, and I could really taste all the ingredients, especially the cucumber which helped throughout the meal to clean my pallet.

For the Main Course I decided to try a few things and went with the Hibachi Dinner Filet Mignon, Shrimp, and Scallops with fried rice and veggies. While it was being prepared, out came house soup and green ginger salad. I loved the soup, not only was it tasty, but it was also full of “crunchy thingys” (what our household calls crispy noodles). Angel, our waitress brought out the meal and upon the first bite I knew this was going to be an incredible dining experience. That steak literally melted in my mouth. The Shrimp and Scallops were also cooked perfectly. I was putting those chopsticks to work with back-and-forth various combos of Shrimp, Steak, Scallops. It was like I was in Surf and Turf Nirvana haha. The vegetables and the fried rice also really brought home that Japanese Culinary taste that you can only find at exceptional Japanese Sushi and Steakhouses.

The service was great, and the food was phenomenal. I highly recommend this spot and will be visiting them again very soon! Until next time Eat like a Local!

P.S. We did see a Robot delivering food but he did not visit our table. Maybe that is for the Hibachi Grill side where the Chefs were putting on a show (we will try that experience next visit and report back).
