So many grateful spouses and children (young or adult) enjoy honoring their mothers on that one special day of the year that goes beyond the norm. Sunday, May 12 marks Mother’s Day 2024, and for those of us who are residents of Calhoun County, there are countless ways to make her day a special one. Dining Out on Mother’s Day
One of the most popular activities to treat Mom is with a lovely dinner out. We’ve found a few restaurants that will be offering great dining options this Mother’s Day. Please note that many restaurants in Calhoun County will be open on Mother’s Day, while a few will not. It’s always advisable to call in advance. If Mother is in the mood for a tasty brunch, then Lulu’s Place is the place to take her this Mother’s Day. Hubbard’s Off Main has already gained a reputation for putting together a stellar Sunday buffet. They won’t disappoint the mothers of Calhoun County this Mother’s Day. Their buffet will feature Chicken and Dumplings, Ham, Sweet Potato Casserole, Squash Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, plus assorted salads and desserts. Note: Reservations are required.

Outings on Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day at RedBird Willow Farm
As you may recall from our special spotlight on RedBird Willow Farm, this unique farm holds mothers dear to their hearts–especially those who have lost a child. They’ll be hosting their second annual Bereaved Mother’s Day event. Mothers will receive flowers, and have an opportunity to create a special note for their lost child and write their child’s name on a painted rock. Guest speaker Kathy Mullen from Atlanta will also talk about the organization she founded–Mullen’s Miracles. This special event takes place Sunday, May 5 from 1 PM to 3 PM and is free to all bereaved mothers.
Beyond that event, there are special private booking opportunities to bring Mama to see a llama. They also have a lovely gift shop that provides many shopping options.

Mother’s Day at Big Time Entertainment
It’s your day, Mom! In the mood for something a bit out-of-the-box? Why not take the family for an afternoon of fun at Big Time Entertainment, the best place in town for fun and games? Laser Tag, Hologate Virtual Reality, Go-Karting, Adventure Golf, or the Ninja Warrior Course are just some of the attractions you can indulge in. While it may not be a traditional choice, it could be a memorable one.
