Saint Patrick’s Day events are a local favorite for Downtown Anniston patrons, with authentic food specials at various restaurants, live music, and bar crawls, there is always a good time to be had. However this year, as we are on the tailend of a world pandemic, we were presented with difficult decisions. How could we house a couple hundred guests in one space? How could we maintain safety procedures in a packed restaurant? How could we still pull off the biggest night of the year for downtown Anniston?
Karla Eden, founder of Anniston Bar Crawls teamed up with Dan Seymour, general manager of Rack and Roll Billiards and Sports Bar (recently licensed as a full service restaurant for all ages) and birthed the idea of an outdoor arts and music festival.
Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 11am till 10pm, we are ready to Shamrock the Block. This is an outdoor block party to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. Artisan and Craft Vendors, face paintings, live music on an outdoor stage, three great restaurants within the block and a few others within close walking distance, and let’s not forget… green beer! Outdoor seating will be available so you can safely enjoy the day.
Live music throughout the day will be provided by local favorites such as Tyler Bohannon, Patrick Smith, Andrew May, Talking Animals, Exs and Ohs; and there are more to be announced.
Confirmed artisan and craft vendors include Lucky 13 Art, Outer Limits, Curio Shop and Skate, CD Cellar, Everything Eden, Called Coffee Company, Area 51 Creations, and many more signing on every day.
Of course, no event is complete without the support of its sponsors so a special appreciation goes to those who have already committed their support: Hooligan Harley Davidson, Calhoun County Insight, ERA King, Widenet, Southern Residential Rentals LLC, Oxford Jewelry and Pawn, Allen Ray Realtor Remax Wired.
We hope you will all mark your calendar and join us as we Shamrock the Block! Bring the family as all ages and leashed pets are welcome. We do request that you follow all safety guidelines and maintain proper social distancing procedures.
