Elijah Borders brings new, original “red dirt” country music in 2020. Borders, 21, hopes to release two singles before summer and an EP later this year.

“I’m really trying to put out as much music as possible,” he says. “Hopefully this year will be fun!”

The Jacksonville native has been working the college bar circuit in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, and Birmingham. He says  he’s playing in lots of new venues to get his name out there.

Borders talks about being raised on both country and rock and roll music saying he and his dad listened to “a blend between that early 2000s rock and roll, late 90s rock and roll, and the good ole 90s boot stomping type of country music that everybody likes to sing along to.” Alan Jackson, Three Doors Down and Chris Daughtry all come to mind when reminiscing about time spent riding and listening to music in his dad’s Honda Civic.

That influence of country and rock and roll shows up in Borders’ music. His first single, Could Be For You was released in May 2019, and is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services

“I’m a big Texas country fan, like the whole red dirt kind of stuff that comes out of Texas and Oklahoma,” Borders says. “I want to fly out to Texas and record a four song EP and try to put that out around October, and then put out as much music as possible after that EP.”

“I don’t want to put out something and then go silent for 8, 10, 12 months,” he continues. “As long as I can afford it, I’m going to be putting out as much music as I can.”
